My Story
Blue's journey in rodeo began in Dayton, Texas, where he was born and raised on a sprawling registered Brahman ranch. With a father who was a respected PRCA announcer, the rodeo was in his blood from the start. Blue's love for rodeo ignited at a young age, and he never looked back. He took his first steps into the arena at just 14, learning the art of bullfighting under the mentorship of the late and legendary Rex Dunn. Blue's career took off from there, starting in the youth ranks and eventually spanning 25 remarkable years in the PRCA, CPRA, UPRA, and the IPRA. In 2020, after a stellar career, he decided to trade in his cleats, baggies, and grease paint for a microphone. Blue's passion for bullfighting didn't end with his retirement; he continues to pass on his knowledge and skills to younger generations and serves as their dedicated representative in the PRCA.
Jennifer, on the other hand, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, into a family deeply involved with horses. Her parents made their living in Kansas by raising and training horses until 1992 when they relocated to Florida and continued their equestrian pursuits. Jennifer's talents in horsemanship knew no bounds as she excelled in various disciplines, from jumping and dressage to reining, barrel racing, and even team roping.
Blue and Jen's paths crossed in 2009 at a rodeo in Florida, and their connection was instant. Jennifer made the life-changing decision to move to Texas, where she joined Blue working for Frontier Rodeo Company. In this dynamic duo, Blue showcased his bullfighting skills, while Jennifer took on the role of timer and also participated in the opening ceremonies. When Blue decided to retire from bullfighting, they embarked on a new journey together: announcing rodeo events. Jennifer quickly adapted, learning the ropes of running music, and as they say, the rest is history.
Their accomplishments are not limited to the rodeo arena alone; they are also proud parents of their daughter, Graci. As she prepares to graduate this year with a full ride to Tarleton in Stephenville, Texas, she stands as a testament to their greatest achievement, nurturing a bright future for the next generation.
